RECONFIGURED: New Realism in the 21st Century
MILL Contemporary, 702 ½ Canyon Road, Santa Fe NM
MILL Contemporary is located in Gypsy Alley on Canyon Road in Santa Fe

MILL Contemporary is pleased to announce RECONFIGURED, an exhibition that showcases the artworks of Jennifer Pochinski, Melinda Cootsona, Jamie Chase and Lisa Noonis, 4 abstract figurative painters with their own approach to contemporary realism. The exhibition will take place June 30 –July 22, 2017, with an opening reception on Friday, June 30th, from 5-7 pm.

Jennifer Pochinski is an artist who paints in the big generous style of abstract expressionism. She wants the physicality of the paint to be the story. Her bold, handsome pieces come from her getting lost in her paintings while creating and pouring her emotions into her work.

Melinda Cootsona’s paintings are enlivened by applying numerous overlays of shapes, colors and textures of paint to the canvas and then, by the process of scraping away, she is able to maintain a fresh, spontaneous process in her figurative work.

Jamie Chase is a figurative painter with a background as an illustrator and cartoonist. He is influenced by everything from comic books to Picasso, from cave paintings to minimalism.

Lisa Noonis’ work is influenced by the Impressionists and has developed her style over the years to express her inner vision as an artist. Realism has evolved into expressionism, painting from life into painting from memory: small canvases into large.

The exhibition runs through July 22nd.
