Cheri Vilona currently lives in Colorado, and after living in New York State, New Jersey, the Pacific Northwest and California, Cheri is inspired by both amazing landscape and seascape vistas. The skies, sunrise/sunsets and cloud formations and patterns she’s viewed in her travels and in the places she’s lived hold a particular interest for her. Cheri works primarily in oil, but often adds mixed media elements to her works including oil pastels, oil stick, carbon and inks in her recent abstract works. Cheri has recently begun adding gestural emphasis to her work which has stretched and opened her color perspective with new and exciting possibilities!
Cheri has an AAS degree in Graphic Arts and Advertising and a BS in Business Management, and has continued undergraduate studies in SUNY New Paltz NY, San Jose State and Portland State University. She has furthered her artistic training working with notable painters including Ken Elliott, Casey Klahn, Krista Harris, Larissa Aukon, Douglas Fryer, Mitch Alballa, and Jill Soukup. Cheri has been juried into The Breckenridge Artist In Residence Program in both 2013 and 2016. She is a member of the Arts Students League of Denver, and paints full time in her studio in Berthoud, CO.
